Dang, Dave, once again you are spot on.
I may have just inadertently incriminated myself by protesting too much. :)
This reminds me of that great line at the end of William Faulkner's Absolom, Absolom!, when the southern-raised, northern-schooled Quentin Compson protests, "I don't hate the south. I don't hate the south."

But, really, I was never good enough to be dirty.
I did beat Paula Radcliffe though, once, at world cross in Durham, England - 1995.
What's she hiding behind those long socks?

I guess I'm just too old and cynical. Many of the athletes who have been caught had previusly made statements opposing drug use. What's to stop a "dirty" athlete from being an AAD supporter? And then if he(/she) gets caught he will use as part of his defence that he's innocent the evidence that he is an AAD supporter.

So many athletes who later tested positive have made statements condemning drug use. Joan, how can anyone who does not know you be sure that you have always competed "clean"? How can we ever know who is truly innocent? I'd like to believe that Paula Radcliffe is also clean because she has been a very vocal opponent of drug use.
