I'm the one with the biggest smile! We played on skates. My hockey sticks would cost $4.00 Canadian. I would play all day, and then they would close the changing rooms and the lights at 10:00PM. I would put my street boots in the penalty box and skate by the light of the moon by myself for another two hours. I would then get back into my street boots which would by then be frozen and hobble to the nearest burger joint for a hot chocolate. Today, kids are all in organized sports, which is nice, but that free passion and that "play" seems to be lacking. Sure, we played hard, but it didnt really matter if you "won" Its all too competitive and serious in kids sports now.
