Here is a quiz I gave to the Winston-Salem track club last year.
If you answer “yes” to 5 or more of the questions below, you are officially a lifer.

Lifetime Runner Quiz (answer YES or NO):

1.) Do you have a vanity plate with any of the following:
ILUV2RUN. RNR4LIFE, RUN, IRUN4FUN, RUNR, IMARNR, etc.?

2.) Do you blow your nose into your running glove?

3.) Have you ever peed in public?

4.) Do you have a subscription to Runner’s World?

5.) Do you claim to be “above reading Runner’s World, yet sneak and read it at the airport or grocery store?

6.) Do you have a pair of running shoes in the trunk of your car, “just in case”?

7.) Do you wear your running watch all the time (never switching back to your dress watch after your run)?

8.) Do you know your PR’s at every distance?

9.) Do you know your training partner’s PR’s?

10.) Do you know who Phiddipedes is?

11.) Do you have your TIVO or VCR set to record running shows?

12.) Do you cry at high school cross-country meets?

13.) Can you say the word “fartlek” with a straight face?

14.) Do you own a pair of racing flats?

15.) Are you like the postman … “Neither rain, nor sleet, nor gloom of night will keep you from your appointed rounds (runs)”?

17.) Have you ever clocked your mileage in the car after running a new route?

18.) Do you know what E.P.O. is?

19.) Do you currently have, or have you ever had, a running streak?

20.) Do you have at least one blackened or traumatized toenail- upon which you gaze with pride?

Bonus Question: Did you know that Nelson Mandela ran in place in his prison cell for an hour every day he was in captivity?
